Family Trust Federal Credit Union announced that Penny Pratt, former president and CEO, has been recognized with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation works to empower credit unions in the Carolinas through its embodiment of the “people helping people” philosophy. The Foundation recognizes outstanding members of the credit union community annually at its award galas.
A 40-year veteran of the banking and financial industry, Pratt’s commitment to her community was evident in all she did. After joining Family Trust in 2017, Pratt, along with other local leaders, created “My Ride”, a free public transportation service that provides dependable transportation for all citizens, students and guests in Rock Hill, made possible through their sponsorship and support. Pratt also worked to establish The Community Partnership Foundation, a 501c3 organization that provides grants to nonprofits that are committed to bettering the quality of life in York County.
“Penny’s contributions to Family Trust, and York County as a whole, make her more than deserving of this recognition,” said Ryan Harvey, CEO of Family Trust. “Her work established Family Trust as a community advocate and partner. I am honored to fill her shoes.”
Previously, Pratt has been recognized as Rotarian of the Year by the Sumter Rotary Club (2024) and the Rock Hill Rotary Club (2021). Additionally, she has been awarded SAFE Federal Credit Union’s Exceptional Leadership Award (2010) and President’s Award (2007), CUNA’s Lending Council Award (2008) and California Credit Union League’s National Diversity Award (2005). Pratt currently serves as president of the Sumter Rotary Club and is a board member for Sumter Green and Sumter County Housing and Economic Development Council.
