KEMBA Financial Credit Union, a $2.0 billion credit union in Columbus, OH, was recently named one of Columbus CEO Magazine’s Top Workplaces for 2023 – for the third straight year. The award is based on employee feedback gathered from a third-party, which measures a variety of factors to determine honorees.
“This is an achievement to be proud of,” said Shernette Henry, Chief Human Resources Officer. “We are grateful for each of our employees’ contributions to our success, and truly honored that they are voicing their satisfaction in the workplace, and genuinely feel valued.”
KEMBA’s corporate headquarters, located in Gahanna, is one of the city’s top employers. It employees a total of 300, about 200 of which operate from their Officenter Drive building. Additionally, there are 11 branches across Central Ohio, with more on the horizon.

Likewise, based on the employee survey results, KEMBA was recognized with five Culture of Excellence Awards, including: Compensation and Benefits, Leadership, Innovation, Work-Life Flexibility, and Purpose and Values.

To actively promote employee engagement, KEMBA boasts two internal councils comprised of associates in all position ranks across the organization: a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, as well as an Associate Council. These groups are encouraged to be a voice for all associates and bring participation and ideas to the table. Additionally, it’s learning platform, KEMBA University, offers nearly 100 classes for personal and professional development.
