Connexus’ Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management Lamont Bonham honored with Service Member Patriot Award

LaMont Bonham, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management at Connexus Credit Union, received the Service Member Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR) at Connexus’ corporate headquarters in Wausau, WI.

David Monk, Wisconsin ESGR Area 5 Chair, presented Bonham with the award in recognition of his commitment to supporting active military personnel in their civilian careers by offering flexible schedules, time off before and after deployment, and leaves of absences. The award also highlighted Bonham's character and dedication to serving the common good of the United States of America.

“LaMont is a retired First Sergeant Marine who understands how important the military is and how difficult it is to juggle work, military, and family,” said Tou Ger Xiong, who nominated Bonham. “He is honest and always has the best intentions when providing feedback about choosing between work or the military. For that, I will always appreciate him as a mentor, manager, and friend.”

After graduating high school in 1981, Bonham joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for 21 years. He has been employed at Connexus since 2003 where he started the Collections Department as a single employee. Under Bonham's leadership, the team has grown to 40 members and now includes the Fraud and Legal departments.

Bonham is actively involved in many civic organizations including the Maine Lions Club, American Legion, VFW, Elks Lodge, Wheel ‘em Inn, and Crossroads Community Services, where he currently serves as Board President. “I love the outdoors and will do anything I can for the military,” said Bonham. “The civic work that I do is about going out and helping people. It's very rewarding making a difference and seeing people happy."
