Andrews Federal Credit Union names Damita Robinson as its new Chief Operations Officer, effective October 1, 2021.
Damita was previously EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer, before her confirmation as COO. In her new role, Damita will oversee many of the credit unions' operations and will work to strengthen the membership experience, product range, and services provided. In addition, Damita plans to upgrade the employee recruitment and training process to ensure that Andrews Federal has a powerful, diverse team of professionals.
In making the announcement, Chief Executive Officer Ken Orgeron said, "Damita possesses an extraordinary ability to guide and motivate teams, and she has consistently demonstrated superabundant qualities to assume leadership of daily operations."
Damita joined Andrews Federal in 1993 as a Trainer. Throughout her tenure, Damita has progressively taken on new roles and challenges within the organization. Under her leadership, Andrews Federal achieved its first Great Place to Work Certification in 2019, followed by a consecutive year being a certified Great Place to Work in 2020. Damita's journey is a perfect example of the full range of growth that a career at Andrews Federal has to offer.
Damita also volunteers her time to serve as Treasurer of the Andrews Shares Foundation. In addition, she has completed numerous professional development courses. As a result, Damita is both a Certified Meditator and a Certified Legal Assistant. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Organizational Leadership from Concordia University Irvine with an expected graduation date of spring 2022.
