San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is proud to announce that SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell was named a 2020 Woman of Influence by SD Metro Magazine. The award recognizes women that lead the way in the business industry, helping to drive the local economy while making a difference in the community.
Campbell was selected for her commitment to innovation and excellence which includes the launch of SDCCU’s new online banking platform in late 2019, continued growth and expansion throughout San Diego, Riverside and Orange Counties and the organization’s ongoing commitment to the San Diego community.
Campbell has earned a number of notable awards for her accomplishments and leadership in the time she has been with SDCCU. Last year, she was named CEO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and recognized with the North San Diego Business Chamber’s 2019 Business Leadership Award. In 2018, she was selected as one of 25 San Diego Business Women of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and honored with a Bronze Stevie Award for 2018 Female Executive of the Year. Campbell was named Most Admired CEO by San Diego Business Journal in 2017 having also earned the honor in 2015, as well as recognized for a second time at the San Diego Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Awards with her first win occurring in 2011. Campbell was also chosen as the 2016 Business Leader of the Year by the North San Diego Business Chamber.
With over 25 years of experience in the credit union industry, 10 of which were in San Diego, Campbell is well respected for her leadership and affecting positive change not only locally, but also by industry peers. Campbell serves on the Department of Business Oversight, CU Advisory Committee and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Credit Union Advisory Council. She served as the 2012 and 2013 Board Chair of the California Credit Union League and has since continued her service to the League by serving as a Board and Committee Member. Campbell also serves as a Board Member of the National Credit Union Foundation.
Campbell’s educational background includes a BS – Accounting from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a MAS – Financial Management from The Johns Hopkins University.
