MSUFCU members can now send funds to each other instantly for free

Member2Member℠ transfer service is now available to MSUFCU members

MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) has unveiled its newest exclusive member service: Member2Member℠ (M2M℠) transfers. The service is free, easy to use, instantaneous, and secure.

“The implementation of M2M has been highly anticipated by our membership and offers a free and convenient way to send funds to friends and family, within the Credit Union’s digital landscape,” Deidre Davis, MSUFCU’s Chief Marketing Officer. “With the addition of optional digital greeting cards, members can send congratulatory notes to recipients, wish them a happy birthday, or send one of several other greetings with a simple click.”

On September 12, 2019, M2M was rolled out to MSUFCU membership. Within the first month, more than 9,000 members have enrolled and performed 21,856 transactions.

Based on member feedback and requests, M2M was developed as a proprietary system by MSUFCU’s IT Department to provide convenience and more account control for MSUFCU members. Other mobile payment services, such as PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App, allow users to send funds to other individuals, but these apps can take up to three business days to process a transaction and may include fees. M2M allows Credit Union members to immediately access funds sent to them once they’ve accepted the transfer — at no additional cost.

MSUFCU members are identified within the M2M transfer system by their phone numbers and/or email addresses. In the mobile app, the user’s contact list is uploaded upon his or her acknowledgement and approval. This makes it easy and fast to then select the member to send money to. M2M is part of the Credit Union’s MoveMoney℠ feature, a secure and free way to send money, make loan payments, pay bills, and transfer money within MSUFCU and external accounts.
