Wings Financial Credit Union joins CU Realty Services’ Million Dollar Club

Minnesota's largest credit union celebrates saving members $1 million in cash rewards through HomeAdvantage

Minnesota’s largest credit union, Wings Financial Credit Union, has earned a spot in CU Realty Services’ Million Dollar Club, having saved its members $1 million on real estate transactions through the HomeAdvantage® program. Wings Financial is the tenth credit union to be inducted into the Million Dollar Club and has helped over 700 members buy or sell their homes through HomeAdvantage since implementing the program in 2014.

HomeAdvantage  is a turnkey real estate marketing platform from CU Realty Services. It empowers credit unions with the tools necessary to attract and engage home-buying members in all stages of their home-buying journey. Features include online property listings, property valuation tools, connections to local real estate agents, and cash back at closing in the form of HomeAdvantage Cash Rewards.

The Million Dollar Club recognizes credit unions that have delivered $1 million or more in Cash Rewards back to their members. Cash Rewards are earned when a member completes a home purchase or sale using a real estate agent in the HomeAdvantage network. Cash Rewards are equal to 20 percent of the agent’s earned commission. Wings Financial members save an average of $1,500 per transaction.

Based in Apple Valley, Minnesota, Wings Financial has actively used the program to better serve its more than 265,000 members and helped hundreds of families achieve their homeownership dreams over the past five years.

“HomeAdvantage is a perfect fit for Wings Financial because we’re dedicated to giving our members the best possible tools to make sound financial decisions,” says Kristin Saul, mortgage business development manager at Wings Financial Credit Union. “With this partnership we can now recommend trusted real estate agents and offer members home search tools and the financial benefits of Cash Rewards. In fact, we can’t wait to give another $1 million back to our members through the program!”

Since launching, HomeAdvantage has cumulatively given more than $42 million in Cash Rewards back to members who have used HomeAdvantage agents to buy or sell a home.

Norm Creveling, chief lending officer at Wings Financial, says the HomeAdvantage program provides true financial value to members. “With home affordability being a top consideration for most people when they buy or sell a home, this program puts real money back in our members’ pockets to help with things like closing costs and moving expenses,” says Creveling.

“Our mission is to help make home ownership more affordable for buyers and sellers, and HomeAdvantage program’s Cash Rewards incentive helps ease the financial burden during the closing process,” says Tina Powers, COO of CU Realty Services. “Wings Financial has worked hard to share HomeAdvantage’s benefits with its members and we commend its efforts. By giving $1 million in cash back to its members, Wings Financial has played an important role in helping many more people in Minnesota achieve homeownership goals.”
