The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) is pleased to invite all credit union professionals in the Mid-Atlantic Region to the prestigious Judge/Bradley Leadership School, held August 12-16 at Penn State University in State College, PA.
The school has been part of PCUA’s education curriculum since 1955, when it started as the Credit Union Institute. Since then, it has been a staple for credit union leaders seeking enhanced leadership skills for both aspiring and established credit union leaders.
Judge/Bradley Leadership School pairs classroom learning with hands-on, teambuilding experiences. The classroom aspect features instructors from Penn State Corporate Learning and leaders in the credit union movement. The two tracks — Foundations and Advanced — feature content specifically created to turn students into well-rounded leaders.
Each class that graduates from Judge/Bradley attends for two years. The 2018 topics for Foundations of Management are:
- DiSC® Personality Assessment
- Communicating Effectively
- Supervising in a Changing Environment
The Advanced Management class will discuss:
- Developing Coaching Skills
- Working Across Generations
- Emotional Intelligence
To apply what students are learning in the classroom, they spend a half-day at the Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center. At the center, students will build their relationships with their classmates, collaborate on challenges, experience team growth, and much more.
First-year students in either track are required to complete a project that will benefit their credit union. The project is completed within the months following the school, and submitted to PCUA. They are then evaluated by members of the Judge/Bradley Advisory Committee. Scores of all the projects are compared, and the three top-scoring projects are presented at next year's school. Every student receives their evaluation to see how they scored and where they can improve.
Judge/Bradley Leadership School is a two-year program that will leave your staff with improved leadership skills, fill them with ideas to improve your credit union, and establish a new network of peers.
