Andrews Federal Credit Union supported the USAG Benelux SHAPE and Chievres Volunteer Recognition Ceremony. The annual event recognizes the volunteers and volunteer organizations throughout the community who work to ensure that the community operate and function smoothly. In 2017, there were a total of 315,000 hours volunteered.
Colonel Kurt Connell, USAG Benelux Garrison Commander, stated, “This community is held together and functions well because of our volunteers. If I were to write a check for this many man hours, I would not get the same quality and dedication that I do from our volunteers.” In an expression of appreciation, this event allowed all nominated volunteers to be recognized with medals and for awards to be presented to the winners in seven distinct categories.
“I believe that volunteers are the unrecognized force that works effortlessly for no pay, and yet do so because they care”, said Andrews FCU’s Joshua Barrett, Chievres Branch Manager. “I am so happy that we can help sponsor an event that recognizes the hard work and energy that is donated by volunteers every day.”
