The 7th Annual German Credit Union Freedom Ten Mile Run, sponsored by Andrews Federal Credit Union, kicked off Saturday, April 14 at the Wiesbaden Army Garrison. The event included a 10-mile run, a 5K run/walk and a ½ mile kids’ run. A total of 223 people participated across all three races. The Credit Union, in partnership with Wiesbaden Community Spouses Club and the Defense Credit Union Council, raised $5,000 to benefit Children’s Miracle Network.
“It is always an honor to sponsor and participate in the Freedom Run,” said Jim Hayes, Andrews Federal President & CEO. “We take pride in supporting our troops and their families overseas.”
Credit Union staff from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands came together to volunteer and participate in the event. All 10-mile race runners received a Freedom Run t-shirt, racer bibs and backpacks courtesy of Andrews Federal.
