Bartelle speaks about “bridging the gap” during Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance in Wiesbaden

Andrews Federal Credit Union’s Vice President of Overseas Operations, Michael Bartelle, recently attended the USAG Wiesbaden’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Observance for the Wiesbaden community on Friday, January 19.

The event began with the viewing of an excerpt from the film Selma, followed by Mr. Bartelle sharing about Dr. King's efforts in "bridging the gap” between the legal prohibition of minority Voting Rights in the south and the morality of the country in fulfilling its obligation to Civil Rights.

“Dr. King represented what’s great about humanity,” said Bartelle. “His words are still relevant today as we strive for racial equality.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was born January 15, 1929 and assassinated April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tenn. This year’s event commemorates Dr. King’s 89th Birthday.

Andrews Federal’s Michael Bartelle and Lieutenant Colonel Zink, Director of Emergency Management, prepare to cut the cake during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance.
