On Monday, Jan. 8, Parker Community Credit Union will change its signs to officially become Educators Credit Union. Parker Community Credit Union member-owners voted to approve the merger on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017. All PCCU offices will remain open with the same staff Parker members have come to know and trust.
Parker Pen employees established Parker Community Credit Union in Janesville more than 83 years ago. Since its creation, the credit union has expanded to three Wisconsin cities (Janesville, Milton and Beloit) and grown to more than 16,000 members. PCCU saw this merger as an opportunity to offer members a larger menu of products and services, as well as a larger network for them to manage their finances.
“The two credit unions’ Boards of Directors agree this merger is mutually beneficial,” said Educators Credit Union CEO Linda Hoover. “By expanding into south central Wisconsin, Educators’ first-class service is available to more potential members than ever before.”
Parker Community Credit Union’s leadership was excited that membership agreed to move forward with the merger.
“I was grateful when the vote went through,” said Parker Community Credit Union Board Chairperson Jim Arneson. “I’m happy for the members and the staff. There are more opportunities for the membership now, and new opportunities for our employees.”
