CUES is pleased to announce Elizabeth Smart, survivor of one of the most well-known kidnapping cases of our time, will be the closing keynote speaker for Directors Conference, December 11– 14, 2016, Maui, Hawaii. “Overcoming Adversity: The Elizabeth Smart Story” is her captivating account of being taken at knifepoint from her family home at age 14 and rescued nine months later.
Smart has overcome unthinkable obstacles. As she relates her experiences, she also discusses the importance and process of recovery and not allowing your past to dictate your future. She encourages your team to identify and learn from previous challenges to continually improve your organization.
CUES President/CEO John Pembroke notes, “We often say that Directors Conference provides our industry’s key volunteers the opportunity to recharge, reconnect and reimagine what is possible. High-caliber speakers such as Elizabeth Smart and the many others on our agenda support this goal by contributing actionable and inspirational content relevant to all credit unions.”
