FENTON, MO (September 10, 2013) -- Alliance Credit Union sent a care package filled with school supplies to Eugene Field Elementary School in Poplar Bluff, Missouri for the school’s Project Dream Support program. The program helps staff ensure that children from low-income families have the necessary supplies to learn.
Alliance employees donated 1,000 pencils, 1,000 pencil eraser toppers, 700 pens and more than four miles of clear tape to the program.
“Our facilities and IT director, Keith Mohl, is also a pastor at a local church on Sunday’s in Poplar Bluff,” President/CEO Tim Stephens said. “He brought the program to our attention. Poplar Bluff is well outside our field of membership, but that did not stop us from wanting to help.”
Eugene Field Elementary School is a part of the Poplar Bluff R-I Public School District and has more than 450 students. Some students need assistance in buying basic supplies.
“With the generosity of Alliance Credit Union employees, 2013-14 is going to be a fantastic year for the staff and students at Eugene Elementary School” Program Sponsor Art Cole said.
