South Carolina Federal Credit Union Announces New 25-and-Under Program

N. CHARLESTON, SC (September 12, 2013) -- South Carolina Federal Credit Union is launching a new 25-and-under program, smpl. (pronounced “simple”), as an initiative to arm young people with the knowledge to navigate through their financial futures with ease.

smpl. is the next evolution of the former Young and Free® South Carolina program. South Carolina Federal left the franchised program in an effort to allow its events, educational outreach and financial literacy initiatives to be run in-house and provide a more regional focus to the credit union’s footprint.

The program focuses on in-class sessions, community philanthropic work and fun networking events to reach the under-25 demographic in their realm. The program aims to make finances approachable, providing clarity and comfort with basic savings, credit, and money management techniques to set the groundwork for healthy finances.

The program will officially launch with a kickoff party in Charleston at The Alley, 131 Columbus Street, on Friday, September 13, from 7 – 9 p.m.
