DEKALB COUNTY, GA (September 10, 2013) -- Woodward Elementary School on Curtis Drive in DeKalb County had a very special visitor today. Atlanta Falcon Sean Weatherspoon stopped by to speak with 5th graders about leadership. Weatherspoon’s Spoonful of Hope Foundation partnered with Georgia United Credit Union and Star94 Radio for a successful school supply drive and today’s visit was in follow-up to the school supply donation made to Woodward in August.
Thanks to all the Credit Union members who dropped off 8,251 new school supplies and cash donations at one of Georgia United’s 16 branch locations this summer. Supplies were donated to Forsyth, Henry, Rockdale, Clarke, Whitfield, Laurens, Fulton and DeKalb County Schools. The Four DeKalb County Schools were selected to receive donations from Georgia United’s four DeKalb County branches: Woodward Elementary, Indian Creek Elementary, Panola Way Elementary and Toney Elementary. Of those four, Woodward was selected to receive a visit from Atlanta Falcon Sean Weatherspoon.
