United Federal Credit Union Employees on the Move

ST. JOSEPH, MI (August 23, 2013) -- Five United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) employees have been appointed to new positions.

Mark Deckert has been appointed to the position of Loss Prevention Manager. Deckert will develop and execute proactive approaches in the areas of asset, fraud, risk, and loan loss management.

Deckert was previously Delivery Channel Product Specialist at UFCU. Deckert’s prior financial industry experience includes Operations Manager and Assistant Collections Manager positions with Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union and UFCU, respectively.

A native of St. Joseph, Mich., Deckert holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Western Michigan University Haworth College of Business.

He resides in St. Joseph.

Michael Griffin photo

Michael Griffin has been appointed to the position of Business and Mortgage Loan Advisor. Griffin will deliver business financing guidance, real estate lending expertise, and financial counseling to current and future UFCU Members in Greater Kalamazoo, Mich.

Griffin was previously Business Services Manager with UFCU, where he was responsible for development, design, implementation, and management of all business loan products, services, and promotional support. Griffin has 25 years of financial industry experience, including positions in commercial lending, small business banking, and new business development.

A native of Watervliet, Mich., Griffin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and an Associate of Business Administration degree from Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Mich., and has attended Michigan Bankers Association/Risk Management Association schools on commercial lending. Griffin resides in Paw Paw, Mich.

Lorie Hayden has been appointed to the position of Branch Manager at the Niles, Mich., Branch. In her new role, Hayden will be responsible for providing operational leadership to the local branches including staff development, retention, and growth of branch sales performance.

Hayden was previously Branch Manager at the credit union’s Buchanan Branch where she was instrumental in garnering the Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce Redbud Award for Business of the Year, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments and business growth that have benefited the community. Hayden’s prior experience includes Manager and Assistant Manager positions with UFCU branches in Benton Harbor and Buchanan, Mich., respectively.

A native of Buchanan, Hayden holds Bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., and is pursuing a Masters of Management degree from the University of Phoenix. An active member of the Buchanan Chamber of Commerce, Hayden is past President of the St. Joseph Area Executive Professional Women’s Association and currently serves as President of Southwest Michigan Business Networking International and as Treasurer of the Berrien County Sherriff’s Department Mounted Division. She resides in Buchanan.

Jonathan Heeringa photo

Jonathan Heeringa has been appointed to the position of Business Underwriting Manager. Heeringa will oversee the Business Underwriting Center for UFCU’s business lending programs, and will be responsible for the risk management of the business loan portfolio.

Heeringa was previously Business Loan Product Specialist with UFCU’s marketing group. Heeringa’s prior financial industry experience includes business consulting, as well as commercial lending and portfolio management positions with Fifth Third Bank and Comerica Bank.

A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Heeringa is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Park University in Parkville, Mo. He resides in St. Joseph, Mich.

Dustin Jankoviak photo

Dustin Jankoviak has been appointed to the position of Mortgage Loan Originator. Jankoviak will provide real estate lending expertise, financial counseling, and product awareness to UFCU Members regarding their real estate financing needs.

Prior to his new position, Jankoviak was a Member Service Advisor at UFCU’s Niles, Mich. Branch, having previously served as Vault Teller there.

Jankoviak is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind. He is a native and current resident of Niles, Michigan.
