DES MOINES, IA (August 13, 2013) -- The Members Group (TMG) is presenting a complimentary webinar for financial institutions (FIs) – “Preparing for Compliance: What the Future Holds.” The one-hour webinar is scheduled for Thursday, August 22.
Hosted by Jeff Andersen, regulatory counsel for TMG’s sister company PolicyWorks, the event promises to provide insight on how payments program managers can stay ahead of the compliance curve.
During the webinar, Andersen will forecast movements the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is most likely to make in the next several years. He will focus on possible impact to four payment programs in particular: credit cards, debit cards and their associated checking accounts, prepaid cards and mobile payments.
“As we just experienced earlier this month with the overturned debit interchange cap, the regulatory atmosphere is highly unpredictable,” said Andersen. “At the same time, entities like the CFPB do drop hints as to their areas of focus for the future. FIs can and should monitor this activity to improve their chances of on-time and on-budget compliance.”
