ALPENA, MI (July 30, 2013) -- Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union’s Main Branch was awarded first place in the Michigan Brown Trout Festival Fish Flair Contest presented in partnership with the Alpena Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The 1st annual Michigan Brown Trout Fish Flair Contest was held during the 39th annual Michigan Brown Trout Festival. Businesses and organizations in the Alpena community were encouraged to decorate the entrance or lobby to their building or design a display that can be seen from the road. All decorations were required to focus on a fish theme and showcase community pride. Several businesses and individuals participated and entries were judged on attractiveness, creativity, and representation of theme.
LeAnn Schultz, Marketing Director for AAACU, said that the organization was excited to be named “Best Overall Business,” “We are proud supporters of the Brown Trout Festival and value its contribution to the community.” “We look forward to participating next year.”
