David Keller to Retire After 43 Years of Credit Union Service

SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 24, 2013) David Keller, Vice President of Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union announced his retirement effective June 28, 2013.

David has worked in credit unions for over 43 years as President/CEO of Handy Andy Federal Credit Union and Texas Transportation Federal Credit Union. In 2008, Greater TEXAS FCU merged Texas Transportation FCU into its field of membership. David then assumed the role of Vice President where he has served the last four and half years.

David holds a BBA degree from St. Mary’s University, a Certified Credit Union Executive designation and is a graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School. Among the many volunteer positions David has held, he is proudest of being the co-founder and past chairman of “Credit Unions for Kids”, a national non-profit fundraising effort for over 170 children’s charity hospitals. Locally, the 28 year old charity has raised over $6.5 million for the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

David said, “My time in credit unions has afforded me immense personal gratification that every day I am really living the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”

David Keller has been a tremendous asset to Greater TEXAS FCU.  The Credit Union Board of Directors and staff thank David for all he has done for the credit union movement and wish him well in retirement.
