JACKSONVILLE, FL (June 24, 2013) 121 Financial Credit Union used the latest video technology in the form of a helicopter drone to identify and record the location and facilities of each of its Jacksonville branches for online videos and television commercials.
Cindy Breslin, vice president of marketing for 121 Financial, hired 4th Dimension Studios, a video production company, to use its helicopter drone to fly over and around each of the credit union’s branches.
The footage, which begins with a slow, frontal approach towards the front door of the individual branch, was originally designed to help potential customers identify the location of the branch in its television commercials. The spots then take the viewer inside to the lobby to hear testimonials from 121 Financial members from that branch.
Breslin thought the footage was so unique, that it should also be incorporated into the Website where location and contact information is listed for each branch. “This way, a prospective customer not only gets information on a branch near them, they can actually see what the branch looks like,” Breslin reported.
But Breslin didn’t stop there. She is also using the aerial footage for new employee training for them to see the branches without physically going to the facilities and the footage is also being used by the credit union’s security team.
Chris Fanning, a partner with his father in 4th Dimension Studios, is the only owner of a video production company who has a helicopter drone in Northeast Florida. He actually has two - a smaller drone and a larger one about the size of a coffee table. In addition to being a video producer, Fanning is a licensed pilot, which allows him to fly the drone at various altitudes.
“The prospective of the helicopter’s camera angle is unusual and we keep finding different uses for it,” Breslin said. “We recently used it to video a car sale we held at the credit union’s headquarters.”
