Louisiana’s Shared Branching Launches Hurricane Preparedness Campaign for 2013 Storm Season

HARAHAN, LA (May 31, 2013) Louisiana consumers will learn the convenience of Credit Union Shared Branching through the 2013 Hurricane Preparedness ad campaign. The awareness campaign reminds Louisiana residents that in the case of an evacuation, members can access credit union accounts at any of the 130 shared credit union branch locations in Louisiana or the more than 5,000 across the country.  The campaign, which consists of radio and online advertisements, is scheduled to run for two weeks in June, July, and August with additional air time to be purchased when there is an immediate threat.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts an 'extremely active' 2013 Atlantic hurricane season, with the potential for three to six hurricanes with wind speeds above 100 mph. We encourage credit unions and their members to take precaution early. Online resources are also available at www.lcul.com to help members and their families stay safe, both physically and financially.

"As we prepare for this year's active storm season we are armed with the knowledge that preparation is key, especially when it comes to access to financial resources during an evacuation," said Anne Cochran, LCUL President/CEO. "We urge our members to plan ahead and utilize our resources to find shared branch locations well in advance of a severe weather event."
