Mobile RDC answers member demand for remote banking services
AUSTIN, TX (May 30, 2013) Malauzai Software, Inc., a provider of mobile banking SmartApps for community financial institutions, has helped Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Air Academy Federal Credit Union launch a mobile remote deposit capture (RDC) program. The credit union is leveraging a partnership between Malauzai and Bluepoint Solutions that provides community financial institutions with a rapidly deployable mobile deposit offering.
Air Academy FCU was looking for options to expand self service offerings for its 45,000 members. The $460 million credit union decided to implement mobile RDC in order to provide members with the ability to bank whenever and wherever they prefer. Since the launch of the service, members have sent nearly 2,600 items through the mobile channel for a total of $870,000 in deposits. By leveraging the partnership between Malauzai and Bluepoint, Air Academy FCU was able to introduce an integrated, end-to-end mobile banking and mobile deposit product that bundles Bluepoint’s mobile deposit solution QwikDeposit ToGo with the credit union’s existing SmartApp from Malauzai.
“We have received very positive user feedback for our mobile RDC product,” said Lisa Passalacqua, vice president of electronic delivery for Air Academy FCU. “With today’s remote services, we’re reaching a point where ‘non-banking hours’ don’t exist and members expect access to their finances anytime. We’re thrilled that nearly 20 percent of our mobile banking app users have used this service. Working with Malauzai and Bluepoint created a seamless implementation process that helped us answer member demand for the service quickly and easily.”
“Community institutions can not afford to accept a six month mobile RDC implementation timeframe,” said Robb Gaynor, chief product officer and co-founder of Malauzai. “Our partnership with Bluepoint allows institutions such as Air Academy FCU to be up and running in 60 days or less without having to search for a separate remote capture vendor. We now have more than a dozen institutions using this integration and we look forward to helping more community institutions quickly launch mobile RDC to stay ahead of the big bank competitors.”
