EPCOR Announces Payment Systems Award Winner

COLUMBUS, OH (May 15, 2013) EPCOR® - Your Electronic Payments Core of Knowledge today announced that Fifth Third Bank was the recipient of its 2013 Marquis Award.

Fifth Third Bank was formally recognized by EPCOR CEO, Ann-Marie Bartels, AAP, for its Fifth Third Financial Empowerment Mobiles (eBus and eBusII) program during the Awards Luncheon of EPCOR Payments Conference – Spring 2013 at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris.

The full-size, retrofitted commercial buses travel throughout the Midwest to reach individuals and neighborhoods in low-and moderate-income areas that have been traditionally underserved by banks. The eBuses provide community members access to professional financial advice and guidance to empower them to take control of their financial future. To date, the eBuses have traveled to cities in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, Missouri and West Virginia.

“Since April 2004, nearly 170,000 people have boarded the eBuses to gain access to financial education and services. It is in recognition of Fifth Third Bank’s dedication to the community and financial literacy that we acknowledge their efforts today,” stated Bartels.

The Marquis Award is presented annually in recognition of an individual or organization that exemplifies best practices in electronic payments implementation, expands awareness and utilization of ACH payments or contributes greatly to the mission of EPCOR.
