DULUTH, GA (April 22, 2013) - As part of our lifelong commitment to stronger schools and stronger communities, Georgia United and STAR94 Radio teamed up again this year - to reward teachers who make a difference in the lives of students and their parents.
More than 400 teachers were nominated by parents, students and colleagues across the state by the April 12 deadline. Any outstanding teacher could be nominated as long as they are still teaching full-time at an accredited public or private school in the state of Georgia.
During the week of May 6th (Teacher Appreciation Week), we'll announce and reward our TOP FIVE “Teachers Make a Difference” winners who will each receive $500 plus $250 for their school. These winners will also be recognized with an award luncheon full of fun and prizes - for the entire school faculty and staff at a recognition ceremony at their school. At the end of the week, we'll announce our Grand Prize winner who receives a $2,000 scholarship toward his/her Continuing Education studies.
Watch for photos and announcements coming soon about our TOP FIVE winners at www.georgiaunitedcu.org/teachers. In the meantime, we have 10 outstanding teachers that are eligible for our Star Choice Award. This award is your opportunity to vote for who you think should qualify for a $500 cash prize and ice cream sundae party for their class. So, help us spread the word! You can vote at www.georgiaunitedcu.org/vote so share this link with your friends on Facebook, twitter and through your personal networks – and tell your friends in local school systems.
