Lowell Day Nursery Receives $1,500 From Jeanne D’arc Credit Union

LOWELL, MA – Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is pleased to announce that the winner of the latest “Give a Click” campaign located on our website – WeShareACommonThread.org – is Lowell Day Nursery. The organization is a nonprofit, early-education childcare center in Lowell that opened in 1885.  It began as a place for mill workers’ children to be cared for while their parents worked, and continues its mission of serving the needs of area parents.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union understands the value of community and working together.  On the WeShareACommonThread.org website, community members can read about three worthy nonprofit organizations and then vote for the one they would most like to see us support.  The charity with the most votes then receives a $1,500 donation from the Credit Union.  Different charities are posted every quarter, so we encourage people to keep returning to WeShareACommonThread.org to help their favorites gain a much-needed donation.

“We consider social responsibility to be an integral part of our overall mission,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “The ‘Give a Click’ campaign allows us to help people in our region become more involved with their communities and with each other. We are pleased to help Lowell Day Nursery continue its important work.”

In this campaign, the organizations received solid support from website visitors.  When the campaign ended, Lowell Day Nursery received the most votes, while Acre Family Child Care in Lowell came in second and Greater Lawrence Community Action Council’s Head Start Program came in third. Individuals are permitted to vote only once.

The current “Give a Click” campaign is focused nonprofit organizations that assist children. The organizations vying for the next donation are: New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Circle of Friends of Dracut, and the Renaissance Club, based in Lowell.
