CU Times Hosts First 2013 Not for CEOs Event

An ongoing commitment to promote leadership and career development for young credit union professionals.

WASHINGTON D.C. (February 26, 2013) - Credit Union Times is pleased to host its first Not for CEOs event in 2013, covering the sticky subject of succession planning. Not for CEOs launched in 2012 as a quarterly series of live video streams aimed at helping young credit union professionals make their careers in the credit union community.

Building on the success of the 2012 events, Credit Union Times, with the sponsorship of CO-OP Financial Services, continues this useful series in 2013. The upcoming edition of Not for CEOs, taking place Feb. 26 from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. in Washington, D.C. during CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference, will focus on seamless succession planning and recognizing and developing talent from within.

“Younger credit union professionals are chomping at the bit to make their mark on the credit union community,” said Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Sarah Snell Cooke. “Learning about succession planning and how it happens can be a key part of that. On the other hand, more seasoned professionals can take note of the rising stars.”

Washington, D.C.’s Not for CEOs features an expert panel, including Stan Hollen, CEO of CO-OP Financial Services; Brandon Michaels, President/CEO of Mazuma Credit Union; and Ronaldo Hardy, CEO of Shell Geismar Federal Credit Union.

“Succession planning has never been more important than right now, as the baby boomer executives begin pondering retirement,” Cooke said. “We looked to our audience and asked what they wanted out of the next Not for CEOs event, and this subject was definitely top-of-mind.”

If you can’t make the session in D.C., there will be live streaming at CUTimes.com/NotforCEOs. You may also submit questions and comments on Twitter using #NotforCEOs.
