NOTRE DAME, IN (February 8, 2013) – In an endeavor to save members money by transferring their existing loans to a Notre Dame FCU Visa® Platinum Credit Card, where members receive 0%APR for the first six months and a 7.9%APR thereafter, Notre Dame Federal Credit Union partook in an organizational wide Great Escape incentive. Starting September 1, 2012 Notre Dame FCU Partners had seventeen weeks to meet a goal of $2.5 million in balance transfers.
Notre Dame Federal Credit Union far exceeded their goal of $2.5 million. The credit union’s dedicated employees acquired over $3.2 million in balance transfers resulting is extreme savings for their members. A $5,000 grand prize, a “Great Escape” to an exotic location of the winner’s choice was awarded to Kisha Gooden. Second and third place prizes, a $2,000 weekend getaway and new iPad, were also included in Great Escape incentives and awarded to Joan Keeler and Kris Bumbalough, respectively.
The Great Escape eligibility parameters required employees to acquire a minimum of $25,000 in balance transfers to be eligible for the second prize and a minimum of $50,000 in balance transfers to be eligible for the grand prize. Deidre Davis, one of the Great Escape coordinators, stated “This was an exciting contest that motivated our staff to educate our members about the benefits of a NDFCU Visa® Platinum Credit Card. Great Escape Committee organizers participated in fun videos to announce the winners. This was an enjoyable experience for the entire credit union.”
