Pittsburgh Credit Union Leader Re-elected to the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association Board

HARRISBURG, PA – The members of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) have re-elected Cookie Yoder, President/CEO of City Co Federal Credit Union, to its Board of Directors. Yoder will serve a three-year term and represent credit unions in the state in the total assets up to $30 million dollar category. With more than 35 years of credit union experience, Yoder was named President/CEO of the Pittsburgh-headquartered credit union in 2011. Previously, she served as President/CEO of the Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union for 22 years.

In 1977, Yoder began her career in credit unions with RENAISSANCE Federal Credit Union in Pittsburgh. During that time, she graduated from CUNA Management School in 1980, served eight years on the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association’s Youth Involvement Board, received the William M. Noble Memorial Scholarship in 1981, was designated Outstanding Delegate by the National Youth Involvement Board in 1984, and earned the CUNA Development Educator (CUDE) designation in 1984. In 1990, Yoder assumed the position of President/CEO of Pittsburgh Catholic Federal Credit Union, which is now known as Pittsburgh Federal Credit Union.

In May 1993, Yoder was first elected to the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association and Pacul Services, Inc., Board of Directors, where she has served in a variety of positions, including Secretary, 1999-2001; Treasurer, 2002-2003; and Vice Chairman, 2003-2005.

Active in the credit union movement, Yoder served on the CUNA Small Credit Union Committee and the CUNA Renaissance Commission from 2000-2001. Further, she served as an Intern Host four times for the World Council of Credit Unions, and she served as a Board Director of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation from 1996-2002. Since 1979, she has been very active in the Pittsburgh Chapter of Credit Unions, serving in such capacities as President, Vice President, and Secretary.

Continuing the credit union tradition within her local community, Yoder is a member of the Mount Oliver Chamber of Commerce and has served as its Treasurer since 1995. Since 2007, she has served on the newly formed Hilltop Economic Development Corporation and is currently Treasurer of that organization.

Credit unions are financial cooperatives that provide affordable financial services to help their owner/members to be better consumers.
