Raleigh, NC – State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) staff and members continue to show their spirit of helping others through their recent contributions to the NC State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC). During the 2012 giving season, SECU employees donated nearly $71,000 to Campaign charities, and SECU members via their Foundation provided $60,000 in financial support for the publication costs of the annual SECC Giving Guide.
The State Employees Combined Campaign provides State employees and retirees an opportunity to support causes committed to improving the quality of life in North Carolina. This year, SECC raised over $4 million in gifts from State employees and offered more than 1,000 approved non-profit and charity organization options for donations.
SECU has been an active participant in the State Employees Combined Campaign for many years, reinforcing the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” SECU employee contributions for 2012 surpassed the previous year figures for participation and donations received.
Mary Paisley, Director of NC State Employees Combined Campaign comments, “We are thankful to the SECU Foundation for their continued partnership with the SECC, providing the annual SECC Giving Guide and other resources that are critical components to the success of our Campaign. In addition, the amazing support and donations from SECU employees will go a long way towards strengthening and sustaining North Carolina’s communities.”
