FORUM Credit Union Announces 2012 SaveItUp Challenge Winners

Indianapolis, Indiana, December 27, 2012- FORUM Credit Union announces three SaveItUp Challenge winners for 2012.  Participants were entered to win three cash prizes once they enrolled in the program, completed two financial steps, and met at least one goal.  Prizes were awarded in three different categories: savings, debt reduction, and financial education.

Savings goal winner Shavonne Holton won a $1,000 Weekly 5 Club Account, which is a savings account that gives members a chance to win prizes by making regular deposits into the account.  Ms. Holton recently became engaged and is excited to put the money towards wedding expenses.  She liked the Challenge because she was able to work with her financial accountability partner to track her progress and look at the best ways to save money while she was in school.

The Challenge’s debt reduction winner of a $1,000 Weekly 5 Club Account was Ashley Kruezman.  Ms. Kruezman is busy planning a destination wedding and is also looking forward to contributing her prize money towards wedding expenses.  Her favorite aspect of the Challenge was that it was goal-oriented which allowed her to stay on task and accomplish her goals.

Heather Spinner, the financial literacy prize winner, won a $500 Weekly 5 Club prize.  As a first time SaveItUp Challenge participant, Ms. Spinner liked that the Challenge incorporated financial education with a credit report and analysis. She is planning to dedicate her prize money as a savings fund.

Additionally, FORUM offered four Financial Peace University classes again this year, each class lasting 13 weeks. Dave Ramsey, a money management expert and popular national radio personality, created Financial Peace University – a program that teaches people how to make the right decisions with their money. FORUM will be offering SaveItUp and Financial Peace University in 2013.
