MADISON, Wis. — Fred Johnson, CUES' president and CEO, has been named an honorary lifetime member of Filene Research Institute, Madison, Wis.
Johnson, who will be retiring on December 31, 2012, was given the honor due to his long-time support of the institute.
Johnson joins the ranks of Richard "Doc" Heins, former CUNA Mutual president and CEO, and Dave Chatfield, former executive director of the Filene Research Institute, fellow honorary lifetime members.
“The Filene Research Institute plays a vital role in the success of the credit union movement; I’m pleased to be named an honorary lifetime member, and I’m flattered to be included on the list with Doc and Dave,” said Johnson.
“Fred was one of the earliest and most ardent supporters of the vision of the Filene Research Institute,” said Filene CEO Mark Meyer. “We want to acknowledge his ideas, his contributions, his leadership, and, above all, his friendship. We will miss him, but his legacy is strong.”
