Genisys Sponsors 2012 Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive

Auburn Hills, MI, November 9, 2012 – Genisys Credit Union recently partnered with Oakland Schools Technical Campus Northeast (OSTC) to sponsor their Peanut Butter & Jelly drive that was held in October.

“The Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive provided an opportunity for the community to support those who are less fortunate and for students to become involved with a Making a Difference event in their community,” said Jackie Buchanan, President/CEO.

Peanut butter and jelly could be dropped off by anyone in the community to OSTC or any Genisys Credit Union branch. All donations benefited the Baldwin Center and Lighthouse of Oakland County’s food pantry.

“This community service project taught our students how to collaborate and implement a marketing plan throughout our campus,” said Paul Galbenski, Dean of OSTC. “By partnering with Genisys, our students were engaged with a real world, hands-on marketing project with the focus on servant leadership.”

The classes at OSTC competed to see who could collect the most peanut butter and jelly. Overall, nearly 200 jars were collected. Winners included the business, management, marketing and tech a.m. cluster and the construction p.m. cluster.
