Wespay leads the way with Accredited Faster Payments Professionals (AFPPs)

Western Payments Alliance (Wespay) is proud to announce that six of our expert staff members have received the first-ever Accredited Faster Payments Professional (AFPP) certification. This milestone places Wespay at the forefront of the payments industry, demonstrating our commitment to excellence and innovation. In total, Nacha and the U.S. Faster Payments Council announced that 161 payments professionals successfully passed the inaugural AFPP exam.  The AFPP certification, administered by Nacha, is designed to recognize professionals who possess comprehensive knowledge of instant payment methods in the U.S., including Same Day ACH, RTP®, FedNow, and Push-to-Card.

Wespay

Celebrating 50 years of payments expertise, Wespay is believed to be the nation’s first non-profit association dedicated to the advancement of electronic payments. Originally formed by a small group of California bankers, the association has grown to over 900 members including financial institutions, third-party payments providers, and other organizations supplying payments-related services. ...

In 1972, the Special Committee on Paperless Entries (SCOPE) was converted into the California Automated Clearing House Association (CACHA), becoming the first ACH association in the United States. In 1974, CACHA joined with three other associations to form Nacha, and the CACHA ACH Rules were transferred to become the Nacha Operating Rules.  In 1993, CACHA was renamed to Western Payments Alliance, now known as Wespay.
