At their annual meeting on April 17th, Service One Credit Union proudly presented a $15,000 donation to the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Foundation (SKYCTC). This donation was in response to SKYCTC’s Annual Giving Day as a challenge to other donors; if 50 gifts were contributed, then Service One would donate $15,000. This impactful contribution was announced before a room full of members, solidifying Service One's commitment to investing in the future of the community. The SKYCTC Foundation plays a vital role, acting as the college's chief fundraising arm. These funds directly benefit programs and activities that empower students. From specialized equipment for hands-on learning in technical fields to uniforms and professional development opportunities, Service One's donation ensures students have the resources they need to thrive not only in the classroom but also in their future careers.
Heather Rogers, Executive Director of SKYCTC Foundation shared, “We had a successful Giving Day and exceeded the 50 Donor Challenge to ‘unlock’ the Service One Credit Union gift! We had 92 donors and raised over $24,300 in gifts to benefit our students through scholarships, programs and the Student Emergency Fund and Pathfinder Food Pantry”.
