Over 400 Credit Union Industry Representatives Attend Industry’s Largest Lending Conference Dedicated to Helping CUs Succeed in the Auto and Mortgage Lending Marketplaces.

Ontario, California, June 1, 2010 – Helping credit unions thrive in today’s competitive marketplace was both the theme and goal of CUDL’s (www.cudl.com) and Prime Alliance’s (www.primealliancesolutions.com) Driving Home Auto & Mortgage Lending Symposium for credit unions, which took place at the Bellagio Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas May 4-7.

Successfully delivering on the event’s theme and goal, the organizations’ joint symposium provided credit unions with an ideal setting to gain critical insight to the latest industry trends and issues affecting all aspects of auto and mortgage lending -- from business intelligence and portfolio management strategies, to risk management, CU efficiencies and fair-lending.

The event, which drew more than 400 attendees from more than 150 credit unions, provided credit unions the strategies and information necessary to strengthen and build their auto and mortgage lending portfolios—and for successfully taking advantage of the market share opportunities that credit unions have in today’s marketplace. The Symposium offered an extensive line-up of educational sessions dedicated to each lending channel, providing attendees with the latest industry thinking and perspectives on the auto and mortgage lending arenas.

“The speakers at the Symposium were amazing -- from experienced motivational speakers to credit union experts.” stated Angela McWithey, Consumer Loan Manager for WESTconsin Credit Union.  “I gained valuable insight on best practices, do's and don'ts for indirect lending, and risk management.  The quality of this conference heightened my confidence that we are on the right path in working with CUDL and knowing they are here to help us as a credit union.”

The symposium’s keynote sessions drew capacity crowds, with a speaker line-up that included a dynamic cross-section of well known industry experts and A-list headline speakers, including: bestselling author, renowned speaker and leading business authority, Jason Jennings; nationally recognized speaker, trainer consultant and Generational Marketing and Management expert, Jason M. Dias; industry expert, noted speaker and president of St. Louis Community Credit Union, Patrick Adams; and personal development guru and award-winning motivational speaker, Steve Rizzo.

“The Driving Home Auto & Mortgage Lending Symposium was a great venue to share best practices among credit unions.  This information exchange epitomizes the spirit de corps engrained in the DNA of credit unions which ultimately provides superior solutions to our membership,” said Brian Best, SVP, chief lending and operations officer, Grow Financial Federal Credit Union.

The event also featured presentations by leading industry experts including: David Lo, director of financial services, JD Powers; Mike James, chief operating officer, Lending Insights; Kelly Kent, senior product manager, decision sciences and Melinda Zabritski, director, automotive credit from Experian; Jeff Lazerson, president, Mortgage Grader; Howard Banker, executive director, Fair Mortgage Collaborative; Jon Schrock, national accounts director, Manheim; Mark Coleman, national sales manager, GE Capital; and Tom Millon, president/CEO and Jeff Harry, executive vice president from Capital Markets Cooperative.

“Symposium is the best opportunity of the year for credit union lenders to meet, discuss current issues with their peers and to hear what industry experts have to say about the most pressing topics of today and tomorrow,” said Dan Green, EVP, Strategy, Prime Alliance Solutions, Inc.

With the symposium as the backdrop, a crowd of more than 400 credit union attendees and guests attended the event’s awards dinner, during which CUDL and Prime Alliance honored eleven credit unions for their exemplary lending practices in 2009.

CUDL recognized Erie Federal Credit Union, Hermantown Federal Credit Union, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Security Service Federal Credit Union, Texans Credit Union, and TTCU (Tulsa Teachers Credit Union) with the 2009 CUDL Best Practices Award.  CUDL also honored Citadel Federal Credit Union and the Golden 1 Credit Union with the CUDL Diamond Award for their continued success in advancing their auto lending programs.  Prime Alliance recognized First Tech Credit Union, ENT Federal Credit Union, Member Mortgage Services, and Tower Federal Credit Union for their individual achievements in mortgage lending.

Commenting on the success of the symposium, Joe Greenwald, CUDL’s vice president of marketing and communications said, “The positive response we’ve received from attending credit unions reinforces the importance of an event that successfully addressed the key issues faced by credit unions in today’s lending marketplace.  Teaming with Prime Alliance, and combining each of our organization’s expertise and leadership, we were able to provide credit unions with an important forum for learning, networking, and idea exchange that will help them to successfully advance their auto and mortgage lending programs.”
