First Harvest Credit Union’s (“First Harvest”) Charitable Journey Program donated over 250 gifts and adopted five Southern New Jersey families through the Volunteers of America Delaware Valley Adopt-A-Family Program. The benefiting families live within the five counties First Harvest serves, which are: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, and Gloucester Counties.
Charitable Journey is an employee-led program established in 2015 by a volunteer group of First Harvest employees with a passion to serve our community. In addition to its quarterly fundraising initiatives to support various charities, the program also raises funds each winter to purchase gifts for families in need within the counties First Harvest serves.
Gifts purchased for the benefitting families this year include children’s toys, bikes, clothing items, bedding sets, and grocery gift cards.
“Credit unions are inherently based on the philosophy of people helping people–our First Harvest family demonstrates this philosophy every day through our service to our members and charitable initiatives that benefit our South Jersey community,” stated First Harvest President & CEO, Mike Dinneen. “The holidays are a time for friends, family, and supporting the members of our community who need it most. We are beyond proud of our Charitable Journey program and the Adopt-A-Family initiative, which make a direct impact in the lives of South Jersey families and children. We wish all of our neighbors, members, and partners a very happy and healthy holidays from First Harvest!”
