As part of its mission to empower community members and aid economic development in the El Paso region, Raiz Federal Credit Union is proud to have joined the Digital Bridges Program, a partnership between JackRabbit Wireless and Workforce Solutions Borderplex. This initiative aims to provide underserved communities with the knowledge and resources needed to confidently thrive in today’s digital world, whether for school, work, or staying in touch with loved ones.
The program provided 30+ families with a year of JackRabbit Wireless Internet Service, a laptop kit, and engaging bilingual courses covering the topics of digital literacy, Microsoft Office, online safety, cybersecurity, and financial literacy — all at no cost to the families. Dedicated to uplifting its community, Raiz joined this initiative to offer three dynamic and collaborative financial education sessions. The first session covered essential budgeting concepts such as keeping track of expenses and setting financial goals. A Raiz representative also helped several participants open their first checking account, marking a significant milestone in their financial journeys. In the second session, families focused on managing their credit. They learned valuable strategies for establishing and maintaining excellent credit while providing them with practical tips for securely navigating online payments. The series culminated with a guide to resources for expanding financial knowledge and skills, leaving participants with practical tools for their financial journeys.
