Clark County Credit Union partners with FHLBank San Francisco to award $100,000 grant to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth

LAS VEGAS, NV (November 22, 2024) |

Clark County Credit Union (CCCU), in collaboration with the Federal  Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLB), will deliver a $100,000 AHEAD Program grant to Nevada Partnership  for Homeless Youth (NPHY).

CCCU applied for the grant on behalf of NPHY as part of FHLB’s community program that attracted more than  300 non-profit applicants. After a competitive selection process, NPHY was awarded the AHEAD Program grant  to fund their work using a continuum of care model that includes advocacy, outreach, transitional, and rapid  rehousing. Recognizing that employment is key to sustainably transitioning out of homelessness, NPHY provides  wrap-around employment services that includes basic life needs, career readiness, vocational training, and job  placement. The AHEAD Program will partially fund staff salaries, outreach, and program supplies such as bus  passes, professional clothing, and document assistance.

“We have supported Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth for many years, but the opportunities that this  AHEAD Program brings will help so many more young people break the cycle of homelessness,” said Matt  Kershaw, CEO of Clark County Credit Union. “As a community-focused credit union serving Southern Nevada for  over 70 years, CCCU is proud to continue our tradition of giving back and making a positive impact on the lives of  those in need, especially at-risk youth in our community.”

The AHEAD grants enable FHLB members like CCCU to give a critical boost to local economic development  programs and projects that directly address the needs of low- to moderate-income communities.

“These grants will help boost economic opportunity and create access to vital services and support that can be  life-changing for people living in underserved communities,” said Eric Cicourel, community investment officer for  FHLBank San Francisco. “We’re proud that for 20 years and counting, the AHEAD Program continues to make a  positive impact throughout the communities we serve.”

For those interested in applying for the AHEAD Program in 2025, please contact CCCU or visit the FHLBank San  Francisco website to learn more.
