On Friday, October 18, 2024, the Schenectady City School District (SCSD) and First New York Federal Credit Union will commemorate the start of the 20th year of the student-run, in-school Patriot Branch.
Members of the Media are cordially invited to attend:
Where: Schenectady High School, 1445 The Plaza, Schenectady, NY 12308
When: Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11 AM
SCSD’s high school branch was the first high school in the Capital Region to participate in First New York’s In-School Branch Program, exclusively offered through its KIDS Banking Program. Through the program’s 20 years, SCSD high school students have earned valuable experience as Tellers, used convenient in-school banking services, and earned countless rewards for their saving efforts.
The Patriot Branch is staffed by student volunteers who will provide banking services to their school district, staff, and colleagues. Functioning as Tellers, these student volunteers gain hands-on working experience while receiving opportunities to learn financial marketing and new account sales fundamentals. This experience assists them in their aspiring higher education goals and future employment opportunities.
Those interested in joining First New York’s KIDS Banking Program should contact Senior Membership Development Officer Michelle LaVoy at michelle.lavoy@firstneyork.org or (518) 393-1326, ext. 1802.
