Why your credit union should participate in ‘Credit Unions For Kids’

Credit unions are the ultimate arbiters of the welfare of families across the United States, whether providing financial stability to a family buying their first home or getting a working mom the vehicle she needs to drive to work and take her kids to school – or their Children’s Miracle Network Hospital oncologist.

Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations, and business partners from across the country. Together, credit unions are engaged in fundraising activities to benefit 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. CU4Kids has been adopted as our movement’s charity of choice. Since 1996, hundreds of credit unions through CU4Kids have raised $185 million, 100% of which goes to support the life-saving work at CMN Hospitals. That goes a long way toward treating more than 2,000 children each day for cancer, 925 babies every day in the newborn intensive care unit and 39 diabetic kids each hour.

In addition to providing more than $3 billion in charitable care, CMN Hospitals support live-saving, cutting-edge research and develop innovative technology to ease innocent children’s pain and lengthen lives with dignity and improving quality. That’s a big number, but there are many smaller numbers that contribute to these children’s and families’ well-being.
