Agreement gives PSECU employees enhanced access to Harrisburg University programs

HARRISBURG, PA (March 8, 2018) — Employees of Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, and their spouses have been granted enhanced access to Harrisburg University of Science and Technology programs thanks to an agreement recently reached between the two entities.

“We are pleased to partner with PSECU to provide its employees with professional development and continuing education opportunities,” said Dr. Eric Darr, President of Harrisburg University. “This agreement helps open doors by ensuring PSECU employees and their spouses have full access to an affordable, world-class science and technology education.”

Through the agreement, PSECU employees and spouses will receive a significant reduction in tuition and training fees for select Harrisburg University undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and training programs, with fields of study including Analytics, Computer and Information Sciences, Management, Interactive Media, and Project Management, among others.

“At PSECU, our Learning and Development team works diligently to ensure that our more than 850 employees have the professional development and education opportunities they need for success and to continue providing the highest quality products and services to our valued members,” explained PSECU Vice President of Human Resources Cathy Tama-Troutman. “We’re pleased to announce this strengthened bond with our education partner Harrisburg University, and look forward to the benefits it will bring well into the future.”

Harrisburg University courses and programs are delivered in a variety of formats – in person, online, or via an accelerated format. Per the agreement, PSECU employees and their spouses will also be granted free access to specified summits held at the Harrisburg University campus.

“PSECU’s employee benefit offerings also include our Employee Training Reimbursement Program, which is intended to provide financial assistance for employees to augment skills needed at PSECU or for career development, and to create a better-educated and more highly skilled workforce,” added Tama-Troutman. “As such, the cost-savings provided to our employees by this agreement with Harrisburg University will also translate to reduced expenditures for the credit union. Those funds can then be reinvested in ways that benefit our membership.”
